A trip to Srisailam is not complete without boating. Boating in Srisailam promises a calming experience amid the mesmerising nature. From devotees who have come to seek blessing at the Sri Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga, nature enthusiasts who have visited for a break away from the hustle bustle of cities to those on a short weekend break to Srisailam from Hyderabad, boating in the Krishna River is sure to allure everyone.
To reach the location of boating, tourists have to walk downhill which can be time consuming as well as hectic. The easier option is to take the Srisailam ropeway which takes less than 5 minutes of time to reach.
There are many choices of boating packages for tourists to select from. At the ticketing counter for ropeway, one can find all the boating options and choose accordingly. For instance, along with the boating only at the Patalganga, tourists can also opt for boating trip to Akkamahadevi cave, which takes around 3 to 4 hours of time (to and fro). Akkamahadevi caves are another popular place to visit in Srisailam, presenting a perfect combination of scenic beauty and religious significance. Also for a trip a boat-ride to Akkamahadevi Caves, a minimum of 18 to 20 people are required, which may sometimes results in waiting for the other interested groups. Srisailam Boating Cost / Charge
The ticket charges for ride to caves are Rs.250 per person. Ride of around 18 km in the river to the caves is an experience of a lifetime.
However, if you are running short of time as the trip to cave will easily take more than half a day, the motorboat ride package is the best option. Another popular boat ride in Patalganga is the coracle boat ride. These are circular boats with oars, presenting a unique boating experience altogether.
